Not so complicated

I agree with the anger but am baffled at the confusion over the disconnect between massive unemployment in the rest of the country and blithe unconcern in D.C. It doesn’t take much to see why that disconnect exists. First, the June BLS release showed that unemployment in the defense contractor corridor of Arlington/Alexandria/D.C. was at 5.4% in April, just over half of the national average (and well below the 9.4% of the city itself). Now Forbes is out with a list of the wealthiest counties, and has found that four of the top five are in the D.C. suburbs.

Not so complicated.
