….and world peace

One of the many ways you can tell whether a marketing document is full of it is to note how many times sentences end with “…for our clients,” which is generally shorthand for “we just listed a group of benefits that more or less accrue to ourselves, but we will now add a phrase that implies the opposite.”

I’m reminded of that every time I see statements by politicians justifying their policy obsessions (or, more accurately, those of their backers) by asserting that the lack of their policy is the only thing standing between us and employment nirvana.
